I'm going to be taking some time removing some brackets that has been under the paint tomorrow. I will take better pictures tomorrow as well. I now have a full idea of all the areas that need glass repair (Its a lot of areas )
All I can say is wow.... That's what I wanted to do to mine, but will have to wait due to limited space at the moment. Just curious if you tried the heat gun / razor :thumbs blade method to strip the paint. A little practice, and I could take off a square foot of paint down to the glass in minutes. Had to save the blasting for the nooks and crannies. Awesome build and I'm jealous.

I tried both chemical and heat and razor... Mine had do many coats of paint on it that neither was very successful... Or I wasn't good at either method... either one.
Nothing to be jealous of with your build! You want to come out for a weekend in Southern California and do my body work for me?

Yes, yes it is. Lot of work down, and lots more to go. One step at a time. Thanks, Dean. Stay tuned, here is where its going to get very interesting.
Its time to spend time with the family. My stepdaughter helped me clean out the garage today - not out of the kindness of her own heart, but to earn money for Disneyland tomorrow!
While the body was out in the sunlight, I took a photo tour of all the fiberglass damage. Time to order up some supplies.
Next I am going to get on with removing the rear fenders - Cajun gave me a tip on how to get it done - so lets see how it goes!
Looking good. Now get on over to the paint/body section. There's something you gotta do because of the baking soda. Don't remember... Just know the pros hate it. I'd definitely look into it before you do anything else to the body. Again, nice work you're doing.

Thanks - I will go check it out! But I was mistaken - I used baking sofa previously, the professional used glass bead.
Looking good Bob. Take your time on the fiberglass repair. Send me text next time you work on it and I will head over to the good side of Oside and help you out. Work schedule permitting of course. Man, when you do a project, you go all out.

Any plans this weekend? I think I will try to tackle the clip removal.
Made some progress on the CC debt and finally got to purchasing some new parts. All new MOOG ball joints, upper and lower, and a poly bushing kit. Once the ball joints and bushings are in, I will order the wheel bearings and the suspension will be ready to sit as a roller.
I also made some progress disassembling the headlights.
I just came across your project and have to say WOW that's alot of fiberglass repair. I'm at the stage of getting ready to blast and I'm going to use the plastic media. I have to ask, is any of that damage to the fiberglass due to the blasting or was it all damaged prior to blasting?

Ned
Ned,
It stripped a little further than I would have liked. It left a rough surface instead of a smooth one. Not quite to the point where the the fibers are exposed, but its close. all the damage was there, hiding under the paint and bondo and previous fiber patches.
My Vette had a rough life before I got my hands on her. Drag raced, stripped down, and big block shoved in. Rode hard and put away wet. From the damage I think a clutch exploded at some point. It had both front right and front left damage. One step at a time I will bring her back.
Just stumbled on your thread today. So interesting I read the whole thing. I guess I've neglected my C3 brothers due to devoting so much time to my C7 family.
You're doing some great work there.
