Give me a call next time you head down there as I got my new radiatior and shroud in an need to get rid of my old one.
Will do! Probably in a few weeks... did you remove your front clip during your restoration? I need to get mine off and I could use a knowledgeable hand
I had friday off, so I have been able to have a productive weekend so far. First is my new system for cleaning up hardware and other small parts. First an overnight soak in rust remover, then an overnight tumble in a vibrating parts cleaner. I ordered everything from Amazon.
I ordered a 5 gallon jug of EvapoRust.
Which I put in recycled glass jars.
Then after n overnight soak dry off and put in the tumbler.
my neighbor came over and we were able to mock up the suspension on all 4 corners. I had been missing one of the knuckles in a box that was mislabeled, so that one will need to be dissassembled and blasted, but the good news is the bushing was good on that one!
Starting to look like a car! (Kinda) it was still exciting!
Now comes the list of fasteners that I need to track down

Love the screw driver bolt! Way to improvise and overcome Marine!
It is going to be a blast when you get to finally start her up. Following silently in the background.

Ooh Rah! Haha, the old screwdriver mock up... it worked well to get everything in place, but I eventually found the bolts for the lower rear shock mount! (Now coil-overs) now if I could just find the fronts...
Sorry, I have been lazy on mu updates the last few weeks... I have trouble keeping up with too many pictures per post, so I will keep it to one event per post.
I took the sway bard off to be powder-coated. They will be red to match the brakes.
My neighbor knows a guy, so I'm not sure on the schedule, hopefully I will get them back soon!
I made another trip to SoCAl Vettes and dropped off another load of parts. The Chrome parts I am dropping off as a core for re-chromed originals. (Some of the Parts are for my buddy Ed (Lobzilla) as is the sweet yellow rug)
and I picked up a set of perfect doors with power windows (With the glass from the '74 I parted out installed in them. And a new aftermarket '69 Front Clip.
Love the thread. Very good work, and a super impressive frame. Hope to drive mine next to yours someday
I would love that! We are practically neighbors, my wife works out in the desert. I started this project up in Twentynine Palms. I will message you next time I head up that way, I'd love to check out your C3.

Parts is one thing I certainly don't have shortage of... Time, money, stature, style, skill... I am short on all of those.
Next part I m working on is the front frame rail extensions. One was damaged in a fender bender at some point in the cars life. I have fixed a few other bent pieces, and this one has been the hardest to straighten so far.
First I cut a piece of 2x4 to match the contour to vice against.
It fits perfectly on the straight side.
Little bent on the bent side.
I've been using my torch and a vice:
Getting closer, but not 100% yet. I will give it my best, and if I don't get it to the point where I am happy with it, I will just pick up a straight used one.
Today in just about three hours, Mike from dustless blasting was able to finish stripping the top of the body, as well as the interior and every inch under the car. We didn't do the front clip as I will be removing it to replace it with the new one I picked up.
I am frustrated with the hours I have spent up to this point stripping in several methods, none of which were one tenth as efficient as this was.
