So in order to cut the floor out, I first marked my cut lines in tape.

Far out! (vintage language 1967) You will have plenty room for the new frame.

At Ed's suggestion I picked up a pneumatic body saw. The cutting went 10x easier than it would have with a cut off wheel.

For the inside areas that were hard to mark with tape, I made drill holes every inch and a half or so and then played "connect the dots"

Cutting the floor out, I was left with this!

I am now just about caught up with forum posts to real life.

I have gotten in some new parts and have some more on the way, and I need to update you all on that.

A bigger pile of parts = more progress right? I hope so! Thanks!

You know that's an excellent question. The answer is sometime after I get off my *** and order the body mount kit and before we drive it for the first time

I am planning on simultaneously focusing on getting the frame to a roller and repairing the floor - then getting the body on the frame for a test fit.

What is the expert opinion on what to focus on next? I only have a vague idea of the major steps between now and completion.

Hello there everyone, my apologies for the lack of recent updates. The Vette has been on the back burner for a while, but at least I have a good excuse.

I only have two project updates to share: The Powder-coating is complete on the sway bars, and they came out beautiful!

I built a dispenser for my fiberglass mat in preparation for the next phase of the project, repairing the floor.

As for where I have been: My roof leaked and it required a substantial bit of drywall to be ripped out, mold removed and then it put all back together. This moved half of our furniture to the garage and bumped the Vette to the Driveway. Unfortunately not too much progress was made.

Also, I recently changed units, and I will be taking a little 9 month "Vacation" to the desert starting later this summer. I cant share too many details, but I will say Fk ISIS.

The new unit has been very busy, and that hs taken much of my energy. Good news is I will be able to save for the project, and hopefully I can get the body on the frame and get it off to a body shop while I am gone.

I have been spending weekends with family and with my dog, and its been great, but I am excited to get my garage back and get my hands dirty (or dusty, or sticky, whichever one happens with fiberglass)

Where can you take a dog on the beach on Pendelton?
Hope you and the family are well by the way.

You shouldn't let that beast roam around unleashed in the surf...........

He could harm some innocent sharks!

You clearly have never worked with fiberglass if you think only one of those options will happen

The Fiberglass work has begun!

I started with a few test panels to gauge the thickness of the fiberglass. From the top that's 2,3,4,5, and 6 Layers of glass.
