Started stripping the '74 Parts Car. IF anyone needs anything off a '74, let me know. I'm only using the interior, T-tops, doors and glass.

I would be really curious how much $ you can generate parting out that 74,
Often wonder the parts value compared to trying to sell a marginal vette as a project.
nice donor interior your getting, are you using it as is or are you doing some extra work.

I could probably make more parting it out than selling it whole... But I don't have the time or the patience... I will probably sell a few big ticket items and drop off the rest at a used Corvette parts place in trade for some of the items I need.

I would be happy to help out anyone who is working on a restoration

That SR111 frame is a work of art, when it is all together, should be a great performer. I saw some Viking boxes in one of the pictures. Are those the coil overs? I have them installed on my 68 and the ride is fantastic, smooth and not bouncy like a hooptee. Keep up the great work!

It really is. I am looking forward to starting to building it up piece by piece. Its a great feeling to start having some "New Shiny" parts to go on the frame and start the "build." So much of the work has been disassembly and fighting with rust and broken bolts and dirt and busted knuckles. While I am not done with that phase yet, its good to turn the corner.

Yes those are Viking Coilovers. I am happy to hear a positive review on them, I hadnt heard of them, but they are the ones that SRIII uses. Thanks for the encouragement

Default Fuel tank and rear bumper brackets

I removed the mounting brackets for the rear bumpers (Or most of them... one was beyond repair, and another was stuck) and the cross member that mounts the tank to the frame, and got the pieces straightened and blasted. The whole process took about an hour and a half. I wish I had access to a shop every day. Its great therapy at the end of a long day.

Default Update

I am forusing mostly on two parts of the project. Stripping the '74 So I can sell it on and building up the frame. No big progress on stripping, but I will spend a full day this weekend in there with hopefully the rest of the interior.

On the Frame, I am going to get the Fuel tank and the Steering rack in place first.

I ordered a used C4 steering rack here from the forum, and I will be sending that in as a Core. I ordered a rebuilt unit ('86 Sport rack) from MAM today.

For the fuel tank, I removed the filler neck and cap and will be reordering new hardware and a new bib, as well as new tank mounting hardware.

Awesome masking job on the most recent paint job, eh?

Needless to say it smells horrible in there.

Cleaned them up in a parts washer first, since they were so gunked up.

Now they look brand new! What should I do to protect them? Just paint them with the rest of the frame components? Or would powderdoat hold up better?

Its a custom built tank by Rock Valley that is made to fit the SRIII Frame. It has a Electric LS Style fuel pump in it already.

I am going to be installing it soon. I just need to get the cross frame member painted.

I was going to do an update tonight, but PhotoBucket isn't cooperating Anyone Else?

I am working on clearing up some space and some funds Ive posted two for sale threads: one for the Leftover parts from the project, and one for the '69 Rolling Chassis

Once I complete stripping all the parts I will need off the '74 I will be listing that for sale.

Oh well, updates will be slow as I sell parts. I will probably work on things on the side like fixing up headlights, stuff like that.

I will post up some more updates when I get photobucket to work again.

Yeah I think they are having problems. My daughter tried to upload some modeling pics and I just assumed I couldn't figure it out because I am tech challenged sometimes.
