Where do you stop once you've gone this far? How do you keep it a budget build?

Everything is now accessible with the body off. I'd have no choice but to recondition everything.

I'd like to know the answer to this one myself. My 66 Skylark started with a mere addition of shocks and sway bars.

Maybe I misstated. It's not a cheap build, just budget is tight. I don't want to sacrifice quality, but if I can save a few bucks here and there, I am willing to compromise on some things, especially things that can be upgraded later. I plan to spare no expense on anything that is inaccessible with the body on, but after that the budget will come into play. For instance - I'm willing to sacrifice on interior quality for now if that means I can do a top notch job on the chassis.

Thanks for the support.

I agree on trying to keep things on a budget... Some years ago I bought a 37 dodge PU was just going to get it running amd this is where I ended up.. As you can see I busted my budget!

Not setting the bar at all just saying what you start out doing sometimes change as you start doing the work.

Mine began with a carpet change. After pulling the carpet, it was all over but the crying. 2 year project and it's almost done.

For sure. I was referring to the quality of your truck. Looks great!

Did some quick cleaning of frame and pleasantly surprised. Aside from the nasty corners, mostly surface rust. Found a couple more areas that need attention, but less than expected.

Preliminary frame cleanup.

You are in the inglorious section of lots of wirewheeling and cleaning. Keep up the good work. You may think no one cares, but we want to see how you progress. We have been there and understand! This foundational non-exciting work is crucial, so do it right! Encourage, encourage, encourage!

Everyone wants pics, so here's another. Had a few minutes at end of day, so did a bit more tear down.

Axle shafts, trans xmember out.

Getting close to having to pull wheels/suspension.
