I only see two holes not eight holes ,am I missing something??
I don`t know.... if you look north of those holes, closer to the window, there`s an odd looking bump. Could it be holes were poorly closed, and these just fell out?
The luggage rack normally used wellnuts and had one large-ish (1/2" dia) hole at each mounting point (6 or 8 depending) not those 2 small holes.
Maybe a real aftermarket (not dealer installed) one?
CB antenna would also have a single large hole wouldn't it?
I know one thing ,if I ever paint my 72 ,im gonna fill in the spot where the stupid burglar alarm is ,does anyone have one that works,I bought a new 73 ,and had trouble with it when it was new!!!

Thread heist -sorry bud.
Ha, just last week i wanted to show off about how finely tuned my car is by demonstrating the alarm... sure enough... as soon as i turned the key on the fender - honk, honk, honk goes the alarm... (i think it is the door sensor not properly adjusted.
The holes on the deck? Im going with... spoiler as mentioned above.

This could be it looks like the holes are in the right place. I am just going to fill them.
The alarm does not work but I think the lock looks cool so I might try and repair it.
Thanks all
Could be louvers..., but could still have been an aftermarket luggage rack.
The one that was on my '70 was hinged and would flip up so you could access the gas flap with luggage strapped in place. It did not use the typical "posts" that you see.
Of course GM never produced Corvettes with a "luggage rack option." They were all dealer installed options.
Mine had to come off because NCRS will ding you for it.

My alarm horn on my 72 didn't work but I decided to leave the key lock where it is anyway. You get these dumb questions at the car cruises " How do you get into the trunk , I don't see it "
