Default t top alignment

68 Coupe After paint and cosmetic restoration down to replacing weatherstrip and installing chrome on t tops. I know new weatherstrip will take a while to settle but have a gap between tops front ot rear that goes from narrow to wide-1/4' to 5/8'. Also rear gap on passenger top is narrow in middle and wider toward door. I've looked and can't figure any adjustments but don't want to move a whole lot and damage paint. any alignment suggestions? Thanks in advance. Tom

Hi tt,
There are 4 points at which the panels are adjusted.
Front outer corner 'guide pin'. There are 2 twelve point bolts that allow movement/adjustment of the pin.
Rear outer corner triangle wedge. The wedge threads in and out of it's mounting place for forward and rearward panel adjustment. The 2 screws in the plate allow the plate and wedge to move up and down so the panel moves up and down.
2 center lock wedges. These wedges can be shimmed to move the roof panel up and down and slid to allow center gap alignment.
All 4 adjustments should be loose to begin with when adjusting the panels for fit and gap alignment.
It's not easy but IS doable.
Regards,
Alan

Tri-angle wedge and adjustment screws.

Forward of the two center lock wedges with shims in place.

Thanks Alan, I had all points loosened and thought that was it but upon further looking I had the rear most wedge a little too tight. After loosening pass side it slid right into place-still going to let w/s mold itself to center post before tightening and installing headliner. As always I knew you would have pics of everything. Really great to have you and pics here to show assembly. AIM didn't really cover adjustments.Should have double checked before asking dumb question. As everyone says "very nice car"!!! Thanks, Tom
