I just read Rescue Rogers account of the problems he had on his 68. I thought mine was bad until I read about his car. However, I think I am making progress. Today it was warm in northern VA so I took the 68 convert (top down) out to get gas. (The 454 NOM gets gpm, not mpg.) While I was at the gas pump, I had a guy in a 2002 z06 admire my car, three others walk over and look at it and a cute young lady half my age ask if she could take pictures of it. This makes up for the hours under the car on a creeper.

That beast uses as much idling as my little 350 uses at 60mph!
Half your age,,,,she must have been about 18?????
More pics next time you go for a drive....all we have is "pancake" scenery down here.

Hi R,
Terrific picture of your car!
When we spend so much time under them, or with them apart, we sometimes forget how special they appear to other people!

Alan
Nah.... She was probably in her 40's. At our age, they ALL look young.
I went into the bank last week. There was a young gal behind the counter who looked like she could have been in high school and doing a research paper on Banks. She had been working there for 3 years....

My ears were burning!!! Very nice vette. I was considering putting the trim in my hood cowl. Yours looks good. What seats are those and how big are your rims? I just bought new BFG rubber and really dont have the cash for rims yet. Maybe 2018 I'm thinking 17's
Just drooling on your pic again and I dont see headlight holes???
The PO did the rims, interior and paint. Rims are 18x9 on front and 20 x 10 on back Torque Thrust II. Seats have what I believe are 1970 or newer high back seats with CoverKing seat covers. The front has one of those shark nose kits which move the headlights into the grill. Along with the fender flares, whoever did the fiberglass and paint did a good job. Now about the electrics, trim screws, parking brake, back up lights and wiring..........................That is another story, or perhaps a completely different PO.

I just wanted a good look at her to see if theres any ideas that I might steel for my car. I would like a look at your seats, the hood where the cowl trim is, maybe a walk around to get an idea of the whel setup. Before and afters are always fun too Thanks
Nice looking 68, and yeah it was a damn nice day yesterday in VA, and should be for the rest of the week. Too bad I'm busy spending my time after work to work on my DD instead of driving the Corvette!

That is so true! I've had mine for over 15 years and it make me feel so good when I get a thumbs up at a light or someone takes a picture. You must remember to leave extra time to fuel up as a crowd will gather and ask a million questions or tell you how they or someone they know had one.
We are all so lucky to have our dream cars!

Ya, I need to mount my fire extinguishers too. Ive got a small one and a large one. I kind of like your idea on the console. I have the pad I could put over it as well. Either that or in front of the seat on the floor. Does your hood grill chrome meet in the middle or is there gap? I was looking at them on line and they are 2 piece but the 454 hood had a strip in the center
