Hi bk,
I agree that the interior paint certainly wasn't 'gloss' originally.
Whether you use 'semi-gloss' or 'semi-flat' will likely depend on the brand of paint you choose.
I lean toward the lower gloss percentages in 'semi-flat'.
Regards,
Alan
After checking my steering column on an 80*F day after a 2 hour drive.......
BBQ Black Hi-Temp might be a good choice.....my infrared gun showed the lower part of the steering column was 135*F at the inside firewall (with a 190*F engine thermostat installed/no A/C). The manual steering box was 165*F....talk about heat transfer!
I used the John Deere "Blitz Black" part number TY25631.
It's what I used on my engine compartment as well. It is similar to semi-flat black. It is not factory correct if you are looking for something like that.
I used the same Vinyl Paint I used for all interior items. (Some will refer to it as Dye but I prefer to call it paint as it coats items rather than penetrating into the surface)
