some folks I believe miss the heart and soul of car crafting get caught up in ego flexing and loose all humility...it's sad.
While I haven't taken the 69 where we moved here in Eustis we are 1/2 mile from the monthly cruise the town puts on,
we went once on the trike, oddly several fellows made it known to me they saw that I just moved in and have a "vette" under a cover on my driveway,
There was a club there with their super detailed late models that just do not get me jazzed,
but there is a less than pristine late 50's corvette, it wasn't running well and not perfect but I really loved seeing a survivor looking car at a cruise,
I did get a lot of compliments on those too. Back in the day they were everywhere, and now they are unique! I had someone ask if I was going to stick with 15" wheels and I said yes, as long as I can keep buying tires.
I enjoy seeing the survivors too!

Always nice to meet a deadline you have set, that feeling of accomplishment helps with the next hurdle.
Thank you! Meeting the deadline definitely took a weight off and give me the push to keep going.

The last 2 shows ive been to, the first gave awards to a guy with a 2014 and the other to a guy with deep pockets with a 62 c1 that all he does is big car shows. This was a tiny ice cream stand.
The other was a big show that only 6 vettes showed up to a 64, 68, 74,75, 2004 and 2010(?)
The 2010(?) won which was just stock. Nothing special.
I no longer get nose bleeds while driving the car from such a high altitude! I installed 550lbs coils and longer bolts from Van Steel and it brought the car down to a much more appealing height. Measuring to the frame rails by the wheels I get about 3/4" of rake, but the fender gap looks a little larger than that. I am going to keep it the way it is since I don't want to reduce the rake any more.
Go Kubs go. Looks really nice even without paint.......................

Thanks! I enjoy driving it even though I think it looks crappy, but I still get many compliments on the "patina" look. I keep telling people it will look better with paint!

Cute picture of the car with the little man. :-)
We went to Vettes on the River this past weekend. Almost 400 corvettes. Almost a dozen of them were interesting. I would have spent way more time checking out your car and visiting with you then any hundreds of c6 and c7 vettes and their owners. It was still fun and I will go back again but I wish there were more interesting cars like yours.
Lookin' good.
I am all for people creating a look that they love......but I have also repaired Corvettes where the wheels/tires suck out from the fenders/quarters...and they bottomed out....and busted up the fiberglass.
Granted...the Corvettes that I have repaired DID NOT have suspension travel stop set-up installed that would prevent the tires from contacting the fiberglass.
And also keep in mind in my area the roads can be rather screwed up and have hidden drops that will cause for a car to bottom out.
I AM NOT SPECIFICALLY REFERRING TO THIS CORVETTE...and not that is matters to some members anyway...but...driving a Corvette around with areas that have bare fiberglass is really not a wise thing to do. It just opens up the possibility of a containment getting into the fiberglass and then having to deal with that.
Thanks for the compliments all. Just to clarify, the car will not be staying this way. I will be adding flares and paint as soon as time and money allow. For now I am enjoying it the way it is. The fronts do rub slightly on bigger bumps so the flares will probably go on this winter. I am not a big fan of the patina look. This one just happens to be that way while I sort out all the mechanical stuff.
The wheels are 15x10 with 3.5" backspacing. No issues with the parking brake cables or anything. Just bolt on and go. Tires are 265/50R15 all around.

Sounds good to me...I actually like the 'look'. And I am sure I will like it when you get the flares on it.
I have been messing with these cars and customs so long I guess it takes more to get me jazzed up excited,
I know most people want sweet paint jobs etc,
I guess I like the stuff most do not care for I got super jazzed the other day when I saw this old movie car that I had forgotten about for years...
I would make sure it was mech sound and safe and not change a thing otherwise and have a ball with It.
and in a more clean, refined way your car jazzes me the same way , and yeah, flares are a must.
Awesome build that is taking on a life of its own. I cant wait to see where you take it from here. I think I know where I will end up with mine, but It changes everyday. Keep the pictures coming.
Thanks again guys! I will continue to update as things change!
Rajin, I have had a vision of a C3 hot rod since I was about 10 years old. Some things have changed since then but most have not. It's been awesome to start seeing that dream come to life. Bolting on the side pipes literally made me giggle as it was one step closer to the pictures I envied as a kid.
