I bought my BL5000SLX through Garage Enthusiast on the other thread. I have side pipes and the lift comes with 2 different blocks that are stackable for the required height. At least one set is mandatory. I stacked them to clear the exhaust in front qnd to keep it even
Wish I had this 35 years ago

I setup the blocks to the same side of the tray left to right and font to back. Then put the blocks on the same part of the frame. It has to be close that way and it doesn't bind going up or down. If you need it perfect get two 2x4 s and cut them the same length and place them between the jacks. Or you use the jacks side to side and use the 2x4 front to rear. Easier to make sure they are parallel.
I also have the BL5000SLX, love it. Just a question for other owners, how or what do you use to assure the two sides are parallel? Mike
I line it up parallel with the sills first at the back then the front sits out slightly, if the large block is centred on frame front and rear it seems fine.
That is probably true, I had a low height and I wanted them to be portable.
By the time they get to Australia the cost is similar to a 2 post.
However can't say I have any complaints.
PS: I did consider a 2 post and locking it for max height but the lift poles on each side would have been a pain in my garage. I can imagine my wife would have not liked the space they would have taken up -
LOL, I completely understand the "WIFE" thing ... So I built a separate Metal Building for my Two-Post.... Best thing I ever did.. I m getting too old to kneel, sit or to crawl under cars to work on them anymore.. Standing to do any repair is great.

I've been seriously considering the Bend Pak MDS-6k but don't see this lift on your site?
We had removed the lift from the site because their was a delay in shipping. They are now on a build to order basis and are currently three weeks out. We have them back up on the site!
Am I missing something here. Are these lifts sold"as two" of do you have to buy two sep units? If so are they tied/timed together as the car goes up? Where is the safety in side to side sway? I know frt to back is locked-in,but............Hdal

The kit has 2 units with a single hydraulic control unit. They go up and down in tandem.

The base is about a foot wide so its stable.on solid surfaces. If you're going to be us i ng it on a dirt driveway use a plywood base to stabilze it. I used it on 3/4 x 2 'x 6' and once it was up in the air I pushed it side to side. Pretty stable.
Hi,
The instructions emphasize that the hydraulic lines should NOT be disconnected from the jacks with the jacks raised and in the either of the 2 LOCKED positions.
This makes moving around on the floor under the REAR of the car a LITTLE more difficult since you have the hydraulic lines to contend with… but it's not too bad.
I have the jacks set so the car moves FORWARD as the jacks raise. (RR's pictures show his jack is set up so the car moves REARWARD as it raises.)
With it set the way I have it, from about the rear suspension FORWARD, the floor is clear, and then from about 1' behind the suspension, to the REAR of the car, the floor can be clear if you move the hoses a little to suit just where you're working.
I find myself doing things I'd have the past put off because access to the underside of the car is so much easier than it was using floor jacks sand jack stands.
Regards,
Alan

I agree. I put off jobs or made sure I had the four jack stands plus a jack under there because I just dont trust jack stands nearly as much as I trust this lift. Mostly the jacking while on stands because stuff shifts.
