Not sure how I missed this thread from over a year ago, but just read through the whole thing. Like everyone else, I'm dying to see this car back running and on display, with all details about it sorted out. That being said, it's your car, you need to not listen to us, and take your time and do things at your pace. I also am crossing my fingers that it works out to be able to get the LT-1 to go along with it. Very cool story, and please keep the updates coming.

Default It's go time

Things are gearing up for the General! Need assistance on what size this tire would be today? See photo. Need to replace the tires. Drag 500's are no longer available so Hoosiers or Phoenix?

Thanks for your thoughts

I think that Phoenix is now Firestone's drag tire line. Going with them, might "keep it in the family".

7.75" X 25.4mm = 197mm If that's a front tire then 195/15 or 205/15. Is that an drag tire or a regular street car front tire?

A quick search of Goodyear and Phoenix shows a max front width of 5" for their front drag tires.

Default Update

Small steps, the front tires are splitting due to age finally found replacements and they came in today. So I had one wheel off and did a little clean and polish. What do you think, not to bad for a 45 year old wheel I think. Zl1 is prepped and ready to pull. Here are a few pics
