Zink coated? Is it the same process we call galvanizing over here in the states? If so I bet it wasn't cheap. Should last forever now! I would shoot some black paint on there however, just for cosmetics.

The labor here in Lithuania is they way cheaper than in US. For example, as far as I know it costs from 50K (for the labor only) in order to restore let's say 1969 Camaro completely. Meanwhile here the same amount of hi quality labor would be 20K max. Therefore galvanizing is much cheaper as well.

And yes, the frame will be painted in black

P.s.
Both of my beauties together. I hope to complete them both within the end of this year.

To repair the deteriorated body mounts, weld-in large washers.

To determine if gear box is a M20, move front fork so that it engages 1st gear and count the input shaft revolutions for the one rotation of the tail shaft. If the input shaft rotates about 2.5 times it's has M20 gears, if a little more than 2 revolutions, then it has M21 gears.

I'm also 100% Lithuanian.

Have just ordered a leather for the interior. I tried to pick as close to the original 81' Camel trim color as possible (despite the picture doesn't reflect the actual color). The plan is to have all the interior wrapped in leather inc. the center console, dash pad, roof panels assembly and all other plastic/vinyl parts.

You are definitely doing it the hard way, and I have nothing but admiration for your efforts. Keep up the good work, and please keep us posted.

Wow, that is a lot of parts! Did your car have any parts on it when you bought it or was it just the frame with a gutted interior?

NICE, what is VAT and customs fee where you live?
Here it is 25% VAT and 12% coming into Europe. So total 37% (also of the shipping price:-)
