if the flag doesn't have 13 stripes and/or 50 stars, it isn't a 'duplication'
Would have actually needed only 48 stars for 1953, up until 1959 when Alaska was added and the next year Hawaii for the current 50.
I gave the emblem picture showing the US flag a good look and it does hint at being a correct representation, although only 42 stars can be counted (7 across by 6 down). Of course the 13 stripes are definitely there.
The first column of stars is hidden where the fold is, but hinted at by a faint first star at the top of that fold. At least that's how it looks after enhancing the image. Maybe the original is more obvious whether there really is or not, and if there is further indication of the remaining 5 stars in that fold.
All this reminds me of my early school days when I volunteered for a time to do flag raising and lowering which required a ceremonious unfolding and folding of the flag. Was mid-1960's, the changing times for that symbol which just gave it more attention.
