my wife and I did them about 12 years ago, it's not bad you just need to take your time and buy the hog pliers to close the rings. There are a lot of videos on this, look them up and watch.
Good Luck

I did it once. It took quite a few beers and the fun factor hovered around zero. For My latest C3 I just ordered the new foam with the covers installed.
Buy quality seat covers from a reliable company......other members can suggest companies (since I bought the inexpensive-very difficult to install kind I won't make any suggestions)
Hi,
It's really not at all impossible to do a good job on replacing seat covers.
Start with Al Knock covers, watch the video he sells on how to do it, do one before you take the other apart so have you have something to compare/refer to, take your time, be prepared for it to take time…. it's not a quick job.
Regards,
Alan
Very do-able for a DIY type of person. It is important to disassemble the seats carefully and take special notes on where the various sizes of retaining clips are located. DO NOT just rip stuff apart; the clips and rods will likely need to be re-used and you need to know exactly where they are to be placed.
Unless you buy a 'seat rebuild' kit, make your own seat clip removal tool (old coat-hanger, etc). Once you rebuild your seats, you will never need it again. Don't overspend on a set of hog ring pliers for the same reason.
When reinstalling the covers, take your time, think things thru BEFORE you have a go at it. And, stop/think when you encounter any potential problem. Forcing the covers on can lead to a torn cover!!!
