YES..take out your glove box liner and look at the rear of your gauge cluster....it will be installed there with a printed circuit board attached to the socket that goes in your gauge cluster.

Does your 78 have the convenience group option (ZX2)? If so then you should have it.

The convenience group is not defined in anything I can see other than a 42.00 adder so it wasn't standard Stuff..
I can tell you what is NOT in the convenience group..pw, pdlocks, gymkhana susp, A/C, intermittent wipers, special sport mirrors and aluminum wheels w/255/60 RWL tires..
I think the convenience group was mostly things like seat belt buzzers and extra interior light stuff.with time delay off and the low fuel warning lite..
You can always take a gallon of gas along and run the car out of gas and see if the low fuel indicator lite is working..I've never run my fuel down that low..to see..Jim
