Electrical Problems...
I checked the repair manual and found the 3 fuses connected with the radio, they are all good. I even replaced them anyway. Still nothing, antenna is stuck in the up position. Anyone have any ideas on what else I can check. I think I found a relay under the car back in the antenna area and also found a fuse back there that is also good. TIA
Are your interior lights working now????
There should NOT be a fuse back by your antenna....or at least I KNOW the facotry did not put one there.
Just because you repacked the fuses DOES NOT mean that the POWER that feeds one side of the fuse is there. YOU have to check and make sure that you have POWER on one of the terminals of the fuse.
I believe...if my memory serves me correctly...your antenna is controlled by the CTSY/CLK
fuse....and IT should have battery power on one of the terminals WITHOUT the key being on.

Btu like yours mine also had a second relay at the antenna, because someone put the wrong one in and the operation of it was reversed. But that's sorted now.
As Dub said check the fuse in the fuse box, since there's a few things not going that's likely to be the cause.
I just checked the fuse, I removed the CTSY?CLK fuse and checked the 2 brass lugs where the fuse pins make contact. One of them has 12.48 Volts a and the other does not. This is with the key removed from the ignition. So, could this possibly a bad relay of an fuse-able link?
As you can tell by now I suck at electrical problems. I did all the mechanical work on the car myself, new crate motor and complete front end, but when it comes to electrical I am lost. And at 71 years old I do not think I have enough time left to learn!! Thanks again.
Yep, I found the stuff in the compartment behind the passengers seat, can you tell me which one is the antenna relay? say form sitting in the drivers seat, left, middle or right side component. I will just replace it if I can find a new one some place on line. Thanks very much.

If they are...then it is a facotry antenna.
We are kinda flying blind here without being able to see what you are seeing.
You CTSY/CLK fuse was fine...you should have battery voltage on one of the terminals with the fuse out.
When you find the antenna relay....ONE of the TWO plug in connectors with have the three wires ( white, gray and green)....which are the wires that are going to your antenna. You should see an ORANGE WIRE...which is being powered by your CTSY/CLK fuse...and should have battery voltage at it with the fuse in. The PINK wire with the ORANGE wire is the control wire from your radio...which is controlling the relay and making the antenna go up and down. And then you have a BLACK wire that is a ground. The ORANGE,PINK and BLACK wires are in a connector all together and also plug into the relay.

Guys, I cannot explain this but just by accident I fixed it. As I said in my first post, I found 3 fuses that are radio, antenna and interior light related. I checked that all and they were good. last night I went back out to the shed and started playing around again. I somehow managed to get myself right up near the fuse box. The previous owner had removed all the AC equipment except for the condenser, and I have left it that way.
I just happen to start checking all the fuses and found the 20 amp fuse in the AC spot was bad. I removed it and as soon as I put in the new 20 amp fuse the antenna went down and everything worked!! I have no idea how they are connected, but they are! I removed the fuse and everything was dead again.
Really, that you for all your help and time. I do appreciate because like I previously said, I am lost when it comes to the electrical. I do not understand what the AC fuse had to do with anything, but everything is working fine now. So, thank a million.
I printed out all the reply's you both gave me, just in case there is a next time.
have a GREAT FATHERS DAY.

But now you know where to look.
When I find idiosyncrasies like that I make a note in the shop/owner's manual for future reference.
Thanks again for all your help.
Here is a picture of the fuse box and the fuse I replaced to make the radio & antenna work. If you look at the picture up in the rightt hand top you can see the fuse marked "ECM", the fuse just to the right of the ECM is the one I replaced. It was a 20 AMP fuse and I think it was for Heat/AC.
I really hope you get this picture because I had no idea how to get it on her. I had to wait for my wife to get home from work last night to do it for me.

Thanks, even I can do THAT.
I will look at my 81 wiring diagram and see how this can possibly work. It is odd that that fuse repaired your problem.
By the way....the fuse you took out should be a 25 amp fuse....just in case you may wonder why it may 'pop' form time to time.
