61 Bubbletop 348 with 3 2's Impala with a 4 spd, or of course a 409 in the same car or 66 SS396 Chevelle. A 61 Impala has been a bucket list car of mine all my life. As far as other Corvettes go, of course a 57 fuelie, just about any mid year with a 4 spd, and a 69 350/350hp, or better engine.
im thinking new Viper. I have actually looked at a couple and would be willing to trade in my 2016 z51 (nothing wrong--a fantastic car). I think they will probably be more collectable in 20 years--plus they really are bad azz.
There are a number of cars that I'd absolutely love to have next to the vette. Would love to have a '70 chevelle SS, '66 GTO, '68 GT 500 mustang, a tubbed out ******, a custom truck from the 40's, etc. Unfortunately, my answer is quite lame. I could part with the '69 for the right/fair amount of cash any day but I'd be right back at it getting another '69 before I would get a different type of car. Now, If I had the money to blow without issue, I'd pony up the cash to have a '63 grand sport coupe made to the specs of yesteryear by the Duntov Motor Co., painted blue with white stripes and the scalloped hood and all.
Fun to consider but in today's world, I'd be hard-pressed to let go of my old mule.
I have owned several copies of '57 Chevy coupes and sedans along with several 1st and 2nd Gen Camaros. Enjoyed spinning wrenches on each one before my current C3 was brought to my attention almost 12 years ago.
I still have a bucket list of special cars that I'd like to populate my garage spaces with, though...
'68 Hemi 4sp Roadrunner
'57 restomod Nomad
'69 RS Z28
'67 GT Mustang
'70 Hemi 'Cuda
'67 L-88 coupe (ok, maybe a convertible)
Only then, would I consider turning over my white car. Don't think that I have anything to worry about.
I'd opt for a '57 Bel Air convertible if I had to give up the Vettes. Another choice that's a ton cheaper would be a '67 Impala convertible but not worth sacrificing the C3 for. Also a '70 Roadrunner convertible would be nice.
I really did build my dream car. But there are several others that I would like to have. Im a muscle car guy, so a hemi cuda or challenger would certainly be worthy stablemates for my other toys.
I can't think of any car I would want so badly that I would get rid of my Corvette and be prevented from having another. The Corvette has always been the #1 car for me since I was little, mainly C3 but there was a period that I really wanted a C4, then I reverted back to the C3.
Panteras and GT40s are close, and maybe I would do it, but only if I'm free to get another C3 down the line.
A Ferrari 430 Spyder would be nice, but I would settle for a 1972 365 GTB4 Daytona. (Or maybe a Series I E-type). And a maintenance fund of course.
Ah, a man after my own heart, but mine would have to be one of the 7
only RHD spiders. Last I heard they were over 1.6 million, but that was
quite few years ago, before I bought my '69.
But more realistically I would part with vet for the chance a acquiring my
dad's '61 Bonneville 4dr hardtop if I could find it, loved that car.
Next in line would be an Alf Romeo Montreal 2.6lt quad cam V8.
