Walking across the parking lot from a distance I noticed something hanging under my '72. It's just inside the left exhaust pipe near the oil pan. Could have been there forever and I just noticed it! I'm sure someone here knows exactly what it is and what I need to do about it. Thanks!

Is it just a matter of getting under the car and plugging it back in? And would this be the reason I'm seeing some drops of transmission fluid on the garage floor?
It could leak; but it's much more likely that the leak is from another source (LOTS of possibilities on an auto tranny). Your TCS system is likely not working, so plugging that socket back on the TCS switch won't change (or harm) anything. But, it will resolve the "hanging thing".
