1969 Rear Clip Value $$$

only possible problem would be the VIN number which should be riveted on the windscreen surround Not sure on your states solution if it doesn't have one.

if the metal is good then that is a reasonable price.
I think you need to be careful.
Here's why….. you seem to be getting ready to build a car from scratch. That sounds like fun!
You were looking at a very nice (but bare) frame for $2500 and now are looking at what appears to be a very nice firewall back body for $2500.
If you had both you'd have a start to a car….. but you'd have $5000 in just PART of a car that still needs LOTS ($$$) more parts and doesn't have a VIN.
I think I'd be looking for a $10,000 COMPLETE car and be ahead financially.
Maybe?
Regards,
Alan

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
$2,500 seems pretty strong to me. Coupe clips (center floor back) are pretty easy to find, and often sell for less than $1000. Nice 2 handle T-Tops rarely sell for more than $100-$200 a pair, and complete doors can be had for $200 each. The body looks to be in nice shape, and includes the cowl and windshield frame, but I still wouldn't figure it to be worth much more than $1500. At least that's my opinion, for what it's worth.

Then there's the missing VIN tag and title. If there was a title with the body, I might be inclined to value it higher. Without a title, you're just opening up yourself for all kinds of legal issues. In most states, if not all, it's illegal to remove, tamper with, or transfer a VIN tag from one car to another.
I'm with Alan, I think you'd be far ahead buying a complete project car.

The rear clip is for a complete car that I have and plan on restoring after I'm done with this one. The bird cage and rocker channels, not to mention alot of other areas are very bad, so I bought the complete running driving car for a very good price. I'm sure it will be a while before I get to it but I have plenty of dry storage area.

It looks like a nice solid birdcage!

Did it appear the vin tag was in place when the original black-out was done on the a-pillar?
Could you tell?
