Default Headlight adjusters

An existing one
Fitt d, but not tight
Hi all,

just started test fitting headlight bits and bobs - and am not sure this looks right?

the existing adjusters have been fitted like this, but all the tails are broken off... the aim isn't massively helpful either..

many thanks for thoughts!

Hi DV,
Here's the configuration of the originals… (68-72?).
Regards,
Alan

thanks Alan!

So - the sticky out bit doesnt serve a purpose, and gets snapped off?

presumably it has a purpose on a different model? (the bag says 56+!)

Hi dv,
Yes, I'd say the part available now might be a 'service replacement' or reproduction that's 'suitable' for many applications but may be 'correct' for just certain of them.
Regards,
Alan

I wouldn't snap it off. It just gives it extra support. Won't hurt anything .

I bought new ones without those tails. the tails interfere. I agree with Alan they are a one size fit all type piece "except corvette"

I bought the same ones with the tail, seem to recall they caused some interference with either assembly or adjustment. Clipped the tails off and worked fine.

The white nylon adjusters with the "tail", were used on 58-67 Corvettes. The black ones without the tail were used on 68-82's.

I know the correct ones are available, because a friend of mine makes them and wholesales them to Corvette parts companies. Some vendors chose to carry both types of adjusters, while others just stock the early ones, since they can be made to work on 68-82's.
