It's for the actual car. They are calling all Pace Car option Corvettes 'Pace Car Replica's'; as in they are replicas of the car that was the actual pace car at Indy that year. It is a confusing way to word it though.

I'm with metalhead on this...all considered replicas. They the 1978 Pace Cars are limited edition replicas!

I photographed the pair years back when they were in the collection of Bud's Chevrolet in Ohio. They were then sold to I think its Dorman Chevrolet, another large dealer in Ohio. I have seen nicer examples of replicas.

I lived throught the whole Pace-car W.S.J. craziness. Beacuse for a short while prices were in the 'stupid-class'...many 'Replicas' (clones) were produced to jump-and-flip that idiotic market.

Don't get me wrong , just love the pace-cars...(decals in the back).
because there were no serialized VIN's {they learned that on the 82 CE } I own a CE, and it obviously has a separate Vin....even tho more CE's were produced than Pace-cars....NOT COUNTING THE CLONES.

ps I'm still in shock that one could order a Pace-car with a L-48!!!!!

38 years later, they go at B-J (L-82- 4spd's) for what the original owner paid for it! (nevermind inflation....too complex a concept for a flipper).
