okay so finally able to post some updated pictures. My friend that's doing the body work gave me a hell of a surprise.
The cars paint was in decent condition and it was hopefully going to be just a blend with some old school lace work.....

he was hoping to have the car totally down to glass and in primer before I saw it. Now he is asking for me to pick a new color because NOW is the time. So I guess we are pulling the windows, all the exterior hardware and part of the interior to do a full repaint. Right now I am in a bit of shock but in a good way. Its got me thinking of of going to a Fathom Green, or possibly a Milano or Marlboro Maroon, but still looking in The House of Colors book too.

The conversion pieces make me want to say to hell with it, what's a little more credit card debt?

I say go for it I was able to sell my 82 style rear and front bumper to help off set the cost.

I second that. The pictures on your thread ultimately led me to purchase these pieces for my '75 roadster (rear first, front to follow this offseason). Your car looks great and I look forward to seeing which color you choose.

Yeah but I have to order parts to get another car ready for the ziptie drags, so I'll have to be patient

I think you made a wise choice, lol. Last night I couldn't sleep for fretting over all the fitment issues I'm having and trying to figure out a way to deal with them. I had a good day today though and I'm feeling a lot better about the fit I've got and plan for going forward.

Its getting done so here is some more progress. Had to remove the tail section to prep for bonding it in and then glass the seams. The body is in fairly good shape surprisingly. The previous work shows to be done fairly well. Now to fair out the body, fix all the gaps and hopefully have it in primer soon. Still need to pull the front and rear windows. Instead of the vinyl wrap on the front bumper we are trying the spray chrome on it.
Still have no idea on the paint. I don't think it will be an old school custom with lace seeing Jim is doing it as a favor.

It's amazing how wide/fat the rear of the C3 looks until the tail light clip is installed!

That is so true. My daughter noticed the same thing right off when I put the new clip on that the back of the car actually looked smaller.

just got back with some new pictures to share. The tail section is now bonded in, we used Fuser127 EZ to bond with. Waiting for it to completely set up before the seam is glassed over. The body is beveled along with the tail cap to allow fir the glass to bit in.
I finalized the colors today so I am hoping it comes out as good as it looks in my head. Main color is a candy with a Bronze Pearl and a Russet Pearl. Going with a coarse flake on top of that. The two secondary colors should blend in and tie everything in together.
The body has been filled in and block sanded just a few more areas to get. Still need to bond the front and finish smoothing out a few areas.
Wasn't really expecting to do all this but all new chrome is coming LOL

So the front and rear are now bonded and glassed in. Filler is being applied to fair out the body. Most of the body has had the body lines sharpened, gaps cleaned up and blocked out. Still need to apply two primer coats with blocking in between them. Then off to get some color on her.....

Looking great John. Is the Fusor product, and beveling the mating surfaces, the key to not having the dreaded ghost seams?
