This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but are these made of plastic like the originals or fiberglass? I have the latter on the nose of my 73 and the guy I bought it from did ALMOST a good job glassing them together. I love the one piece look but the seam pisses me off every time I look at it . Please post some detail as you go through this process.

These are hand laid fiberglass mat made in a mold. Some cars may require a little bit extra work to fit as these cars are not all produced the same and some repairs that have been done to our cars over the years.

a lot of mods already underneath that I never showed being done. Car has a full VBP suspension package tubular control arms QA1 adjustable shocks, mono leaf front suspension and along with the dual mount on the rear. off set trailing arms, heim ends on all the joints only poly mounts are in the control arms. new calipers rotors etc....
I built the engine for everyday driving something pretty tame but puts almost 350 rwhp down on the dyno.
Ive tried to upgrade everything so far but try to keep the car true to its heritage as a driver.

Did you go with stock or Willwood calipers? I've done many of the same mods but am now regretting not having switched. Adds an awful lot of unsprung weight.

when I did the braking system I replaced from the master cylinder out to the wheels. At that point I was not sure which direction I was going with so I let things stock.... I actually bought this car for my dad but it turned into a father daughter project for my daughter and I.
My Dad just bought a 2000 Vette that he and my Mom just picked up. At 77 his MG was just a bit uncomfortable for them.

Hi J. I am going the same route with my '75 roadster (rear only), but I'm utilizing the bumpers. Your post and pictures absolutely pushed me to pursue it. Your car looks amazing. The stance, wheels and of course the bumper conversion have nailed it.

You know perhaps im way off and i realize you have said your car is done but is a build really ever done, i know ive changed plans over and over on my 69 build,

Okay, getting to tge point, going from some of your posts, you know ts never too late, you could still do this conversion,
Likely could match your paint unless special mix,

Just a thought, lifes too short to settle if we want something,

Just food for thought,

Yeah, I am interested in the mod, as something cool to do. As for my fiberglass 77 rear bumper, I admit I don't like it as much as the early C3 style.....BUT, there are compromises. One thing Tom Falconer pointed out in his C3 Book is that rear light recesses of rubber bumper cars is a perfect match with the speedo / tach coves in the dash.....I love that styling connection. Think about it, its cool. So I embrace that thought.

I also could not give up the heavy metal rear bumper, so my version of a conversion would have to include it.

Ultimately, my favorite C3 is a 69. I have a 77. Life is not perfect. I have come to realize each model year has good points and bad.......but nothing is cool as a black 69 big block with red interior.......!

Well just something to simmer on the back burner, but you do know my/factory 69s stock bumpers are mostly for looks....my 69 doesnt have the inner structure of a 77,

I'd like to see it with some black spraypaint on there, to get a better idea of how it looks. Do you plan to hunt down some chrome bumpers?

in the rear I don't plan on putting on the bumpers. Up front It does have a fiberglass bumper that I am looking do a chrome vinyl wrap on.

The car is going to the shop the end of the week where the glass, glue and paint process will be finished. The paint on the car now is an old Navy Blue flake job.

Nice, I may steal the whole idea once I get some more maintenance issues knocked off the checklist on my Vette.
