Chicago Bob- I am not sure how to answer that for you but......the panels and the car both got beveled. Fusor was then applied and all the factory holes reused to hold the front and rear on. Once the Fusor dried a layer of glass mat was layed up in the beveled out area. These are now totally bonded and wont move or come off.
Jims been doing Corvettes and customs for over 50 years. I am sure others may have a different way of doing it.
Long story short......I don't think you'll see a ghost line.
My after market hood didn't line up and was very tight at the base of the windshield. So about 4.0" down each side of the hood a pie cut was taken and the hood rebounded just to keep the gaps correct.
