I've heard a lot of nicknames for cars, including Corvettes, over the years, but my neighbor came up with my favorite. I live on a farm out in the country in northern VA, so it is usually quiet here. When I start up my 68 BB convert, the rumbling exhaust noise apparently carries a fair distance. While chatting over the fence with my neighbor today he remarked that he heard me start up my "deep-throated girlfriend" the other day. I'm not certain he realized the double entendre of that name, but I kind of like it.
My wife calls my 1970 "the mistress" since I have spent so much time working on it. My 1995 is the *****, cause it takes everything I give it and is always ready to go.

On vettes a recall when every nickname had "thunder", "shark" or both in them, lol.
My buddies called my custom 66 devil ray,
My 69 is what some would call a mutt or more colorful "frankenvette", but that is overused and was the docs not the creatures name so i think i will call my 69 the monster or the mutant.....
Have a best friend whose brother-in-law at that time was a mechanic at the local Chevy dealer. He told us back then they called a Vette a "Plastic Bastard" because none of them wanted to work on them :-D
