Corvette bucket list.

I wish I could give you a better answer to your question. I was assured by the guy's who are doing all the body work & paint. That the door jams will come out looking as perfect as the out side of the car when done.
As to how they accomplish that, I can certainly ask the next time I stop in

My wife's friend asked me the other day-"When are you going to drive it?"
I responded with-"Just about anybody can drive a car- few can work on them- and even less can modify them!"
My short bucket list-
Have my 71 make the Hotrod Power Tour this upcoming year- as it starts in Bowling Green.
Long list- the wife wants me to build a 60 restomod...I do have a couple more V12's sitting in the basement...
If we took it, on blocks and all put it in the town square of many Cities USA, it would inspire!

One day I'd love to ship it to the US for a year, road trip it down '66, hit powertour and drag week and a bunch of the big shows, tour some of the big workshops and museums... Probably a pipe dream unless I hit the lottery though.

How did you get your car high enough to get it on those blocks. I am going to use your idea.

2. lift for said garage. I bought the quickjack 5000 last year here on the forum group
buy
3. tilt column, C5 seats, shoulder belts and power brakes. done last weekend
4. 1/4 mile at the local track, EPPING NH. On the list since high school in 1983. Just
went last friday, July 28,2017. never been and got alot of help from the locals.
second lap was .3 reaction, 98 mph and 14.1 seconds. The third lap the temp
dropped about 10 degrees and I just spun the wheels in first and second
5. Rebuild my 327 this fall. Looking at pricing parts now. Looks like $3500 so far. This
will be the coolest on on my bucket list
6. restore my hardtop
7. New convertible top next summer

If in your shoes.....and I was actually of the mindset that a different Corvette for each day of the week was a desire......I'd look for that EXCELLENT condition C1 and then consider a second C2 and or C3. If your current C2 and C3 are coupes or Convertible.......I'd buy the one you don't already have.
To my mind Cars that spend silly amounts of their time in the garage because you have so many more cars than you can drive......should at least be capable of returning their purchase price over time......they will be money losers for sure on repair and upkeep......no good reason to add depreciation to the list......that's my view anyway. YMMV.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
6svette,
We just checked the route 66 journey off in May/June. Don't pass this one up. Times are changing and some government funds in support of maintaining the roads, signage, and support for some of the small towns are being discontinued. When that happens, many of the iconic motels and cafe's will shutdown. So if your corvette is not finished, then tow it, if you can't tow it, throw your favorite corvette part in the back seat of your suv and drive it...just do it!

1. Buy a c3. (Check! 74 coupe, Jan 2015)
2. Build, not buy, a 12 second car. (In process) its also a cruiser meant to be driven like hell.
3. Finish the build. Well, finished enough to drive it. It'll never be finished. Part of the fun, right?
3. Drive the 12 second car to cool events. Local shows. Carlisle. NCM. Break out my shaded folding chair and yak about it all_day_long!
4. Meet some of the awesome people on this forum. (Example: Mike Dyer aka Traccdog2, at Carlisle in just a few weeks!)
5. Drive the car up and down Tail of the Dragon in TN/NC.
Right now car is at the body shop. The frame, suspension, steering, engine, trans upgrades are completed. Bodywork is in process by a guy who has been working on corvettes for 45 years. (Mike Carty of Carty's Complete Corvette Restoration Service in ATCO, NJ. The paint will be Lime Rock Green with motion style white tail and stripe. Some call it the skunk stripe. I cant wait.
