Rear Leaf Spring
Hello,whats the difference between a1963-78 and a1978-82 Rear Leaf Spring? A friend will stick a 7 Leaf Spring -78 in his 80 Corvette. A Mono Spring is no Optioin for Him

I believe the 68-77 leaf spring was 2 1/4" wide while the 78-80 leaf spring was 2 1/2" wide.
The 9 leaf spring was standard while the 7 leaf spring was part of the suspension options available some years.
Why is your friend replacing his current spring?
And, why with a 7 leaf spring?

Hi T,
Some people report that the FE7 spring gives a pretty stiff ride for the street……
I believe it was generally used with a rear sway bar too which 'stiffens' the ride even more.
