1969 transistor ignition help
I am currently working to get a 69 back on the road. The car was originally equipped with a 350 with a transistor ignition. The original engine was missing when I purchased the car, so I installed a 427. My question is can I replace or modify my ignition wire harness and go with a standard 1969 427 distributor and eliminate the transistor ignition? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Clayton

Hi Clayton,
Cars that had the K66 transistor ignition option had a separate ignition harness that was added to the standard engine harness.
I looked at the 1969 AIM sheets for the Transistor Ignition Option, specifically UPC K66, Sheet A3. It appears the original parts of the engine harness remained in place. I can't see anything that appears to have been cut.
I think I'd begin by removing the transistor ignition harness and then see what parts of the engine harness are still there. Might it just be the connections for the standard coil?
It appears there's also a connection that runs to the ignition switch that may need to be dealt with.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
