It might be too big or too expensive a project for him to tackle at this point in time.....
I kinda agree...but I was young like this fellow is... and I took on projects that tested me to no end....both financially and my ability. The one thing I did learn really fast....is was that I was not in any hurry....and my vision would get there...and how inventive I could be in order to make more money for 'those things' I just had to have for my project. Talk about not pissing my money away on things that a teenager would normally do...my money went into my project and I had total tunnel vision on it until it was completed. Heck...back than nobody could tell me anything when I had it set in my mind what I could see in a project.

i understand the cost and time and labor that it takes to restore a vehicle and I am willing to accept all of that, I restored my first non running vehicle (a Honda gl500) at 15 and I had a great time with that.

Glad to read that you know of these factors. Then commenting on those factors are not needed due to you have experienced it and are aware of what it takes. So...now it is up to you and how much you want it.

Pretty cool car. Definitely unique. It would catch my eye and draw me to it if I saw it at a show. My first car show trophy was from a 1977 Corvette with the Cam am wide body kit on it. So I kinda have a special liking for them.

Cool, kinship and camaraderie,

Since we are showing our love of wide bodies,

I did one on my dd 81 in 88, 89
I did little tweaks to one off off the shelf parts,

Basically Flawless bodywork,
It was built to show car level, ground up and at the risk of sounding pompous won awards & got paid to appear, ,

batman came out in 89 and for some reason people thought it looked like the new then batmobile,

But it wasnt my favorite custom i built,, i lost a lot of interest in it as i like patina and i sold it to a leo i worked with, the car was later sent to a high end overseas collector.

My first love is convertible, but on wide bodies the coupe vs convertible vs rear window treatment vs wide body version all play in,

Greenwood daytona version, not my fav,

Like i said i love the car in this thread,
I would love to own it but personal taste also Falls in,

i dont know that the 74 wide 6 light bumper style is my favorite, as i like this a lot ( remove chrome bumpers ) too,

But these panels are the early boxier than whats on the threads car which i like better,

Then there was the monza hatch back,
I really love this look on a wide body, i believe a member has a car like this,

Besides this being a coupe this is the same wide body kit the thread car has,

Wide bodies kind of become orphans on a year model, it gets lot in all the plastic surgery, so doesnt really matter what year you start with,

And ecklers/stinger still sell this early kit, full front and rear clips so you are locked into the 74 style bumper unless you want to do some cutting,

I would be hard pressed not to jump if someone offered just the old panels for sale, anyone?

And i will leave you with this early greenwood/ecklers, can am wagon,
