Build Direction
The tires are supposed to clear. Close no doubt. And yes apprx 4" flares all around, going after a full road race theme. As you can tell, a lot of time went into the body. And suspension & brakes. The drivetrain follows stock closer as with the interior. I save here, to spend there...
And more paint detail
The chassis and body are mated at this point.

I can see social separation in it.
Suggestions at the beginning of this thread were helpful and used for the most part, somewhat ;-). Kept it small block, auto transmission, along with some modern conveniences.
Pro tour/road race in looks. Better brakes & suspension. ...I found a good build direction.
This car will be light duty. Weekend, car meet stuff, low mileage.
A nod goes to my still close friend, who had this car for close to 40 years. Thanks friend, for giving me a blank canvas to build on.
I love the wide array of beautiful C3's on this forum. C3 is the era of my youth (now 60). The mid 70's sure lacked performance, but the C3 body style is still futuristic IMO.
To me 74-82 Vettes are a great starting point for resto-mods. Of course the 68-73 cars are even better (more expensive starting point).
I'll get a pic up in the Red Vettes page in the weeks ahead.

Auto transmission... to be different. Smooth & quick shifting 4L80E, 3 gears & od. 3.55 gears.
Just in time for winter and a long nap!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I am on the 3rd choice in seats due to availability. Lucked out CIC had a higher pressure steering pump and a hyrdo boost set up on their shelves. Oh I had a bad bladder in the fuel tank too. I believe I am running without a bladder now.
It has been a very cool build. The frame is welded (plus we swapped out my frame as it had damage from smacking a curb years ago). I am an odd one not going manual trans, but the performance and ease will be good with the auto trans. Funny, I manual shift it most of the time anyway, but shifting is precise (Bowler built 4L80E). Flowmaster mufflers, X pipe, all quite loud. The exhaust is in two sections, so I can pull the back section off and do a quieter muffler set up - I have the possibility of having two muffler systems...
I went carb at first and we switched over to the Sniper F.I. - good move IMO with easy crisp starts. ...3K at 80 mph with the 3.55 gears.
CIC bodywork is impeccable and super smooth, plus their paint shop is good also. I did the design queues, in wheels, flares (one offs), drive train, paint, and Josh at CIC gave me choice selection in various areas to choose from. ...I could not of built this car to this degree.
I hope to get a couple of auto X events in (as a rookie), and run the quarter, although the Dakota Digital gauges will measure a 1/4 mile run. Close enough to accurate as I understand.
Oh, the hood. It is a one off hood. A Sunoco drag race hood sunken in & sectioned, all for the road race vibe. I just could not do another L-88 or raised Z-28 hood.
My whole theme was based off of one pic of one car...
Close enough!

The motor... As a dyno tuned engine, it still requires to retard the timing. It detonates on any fuel I have found (91, 92 and I will try a 100 octane mix in the days ahead). I will ease off the timing.
I have adjustability for when the fans kick in. Gonna pull that back to a lower temp also. Its been to 215 degrees so far, in cool weather.
The handling... The RideTech suspension & wide G Force tires are amazing. I have ripped some corners at an intensity I had no business doing. Turns like an angry ****. Just crazy. It deserves track days.
The sticky tires pick up every rock & pebble, making for a ride of throwing rocks. My rear fenders are suffering the effect quickly. Need to add some clear matt rock protection.
Vintage air... A great system with a thermostatically controlled temp. No issues there.
I have a pretty thumping sound system. Retrosound with 4 speakers, woofer & amp. Killer tunes. But with headers, x pipe and flow masters, exhaust sound wins. I am too old to crank tunes over a loud car. But the loud car is good. Vey performance sounding and yes I have to drive around minor drone.
So, in my case the car needs fine tuning. Retard the timing, turn on the fans earlier and quell the rattle in the console. I consider it a performance car not a luxury car. Performance 1977 never had.
Its quite the car CIC put together... my cup is 90% full... complete outrageousness!
I am a motorcycle guy mostly, owning many... Getting older, I will move towards four wheels more. At 60 years of age, I see honking this car to 70 years old at least.
Will a 396 stroker last?? This motor came with a pretty unreal warranty for 500 hp. Activated about 2 weeks ago after sitting on the motor for 18 months.
Thumbs up to Blueprint. I hope it lasts. It is just **** eating grin fun. ...And got out of my first ticket!

I'll get some motor compartment & interior pics as soon as I can.
I wanted my motor compartment to be subdued & understated. Which means very little chrome or polished aluminum. All business in a race car kind of way. But a street car.
I suppose finned black valve covers & air filter are their own bling, but overall low key. All the goods are there but not huge standouts.
Billet Specialties serpentine belt system, Vintage Air, MSD & Sniper FI. Sniper control box and a CompuShift trans controller. Borgeson steering, Hydro-Boost booster, Wilwood master cylinder & brakes. Trans cooler, aluminum radiator & twin fans. All operating pretty well together.
