Default Engine removal/replacement

Hi,
Im thinking of installing a crate motor in my 80, do some detailing, etc...
Which is the most preferred method? pull engine, pull engine and transmission together, or pull the body off?

If you are going to install a crate engine, do the detailing when the engine is OUT. Also detail the new engine, as it will only come with some cheap paint on the block. Whether you pull the transmission or not is your call, depending on if it is manual or auto and on whether the trans/clutch/converter needs any work or not.

i repainted my motor and cleaned up the engine compartment with the motor out. very easy when your standing where the engine belongs. I also replaced my heater core while it was out
