Default Removing window handle

I can’t figure out what’s holding this on. I don’t see a clip to grab like the lock ****

Hi H69,
A small wire clip is slipped on the window winders and lock *****.
When the winder is pushed into place the clip locks it on the stud.
There's a special tool for removing the clips or you can use a loop of gentle floss to grab the clip and pull it off.
It's very easy to do AFTER you've done it once.
Regards,
Alan

It's being pushed in place in this photo in the direction indicated.

OK, that is what I pulled off the lock ****. I would double check the window handle. It definitely seems like its held on by something!

Thanks Alan!

Yep same as the lock **** , when its time to put the handle back on , put the clip on first then push it onto the shaft until the clip locks on

sometimes a previous owner puts it on from the wrong direction so if its an issue trying to remove it, try from the reverse angle. Its a pain but you'll get it

I created my own special tool to take these off. I bought a cheap jeweler screwdriver at the $1 store. I bent the tip 1/4 inch at a 90 degree angle. That was enough to slide the screwdriver under the window crank or door lock and use the end to hook onto the clip and then pull the clip out.

I was using s cheap homemade one until I broke the handle off! Then I was looking around and realized a paint lid opener has the profile I needed. It was a little fat getting it in there but worked perfectly. It has a little curl at the end.
