Default 77' T hooks

I'm going to pick up my first C3 this wknd. Roughly 8hrs one way. Unmolested, 50k miles, abt as orginial as one can expect, been serviced up to be used as a daily driver if one chooses to but I'm not. Trying to be prepaired with everything I may need once there.. 2 x 10's, blocks, floor Jack, ramps etc etc. Can someone post pics of the 4 T hook slots ? Are actually in the frame or brackets off to the side? Front and rear? Thxs in advance

Dunno what you are talking about. Sounds like tieing down on a trailer. Most trailers these days use straps over the wheels.

They are in the frame but I don't use them anymore because using them last time bent the metal around the hole and slot in my frame. I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the hook in place.

Now I use short straps around the half shafts in the rear, and around the lower control arm on the front, and secure them down with good heavy duty ratchet straps. Have hauled lots of cars this way without any issues at all.
Here is my ratchet tie down strap and the short strap I use.

Hi DPC,
"are these the rear ones?"

"Here are the 2 slots on the crossmember that is just forward of the differential."

The forward pair are on the side of the frame between the upper and lower a-arms.
Regards,
Alan

You can see the slight distortion from when the car was tightened down for shipping.

Just me maybe but I wouldn't use them - distortion possible - Old fashioned tie down straps have always worked for me -

Safe travels to you,

Frank

yea I understand. I'm prepared to use T hooks, starp around lower a arms or run strap through wheels. I guess I will decide when I get it on trailer. Thanks.
