Default Water pump

Anyone use a Gates Water Pump? Any good? I've used the Auto Zone brand before just looking at what's out there.

considering you already have a modified 75 L82 according to your profile why not go with a better designed pump from Edelbrock, Flowkooler, etc.?

Gates seems like a high quality aftermarket replacement water pump. No issues here with my LS version. Used their gaskets with no silicone, little rubber O-ring lookin things, no problems no leaks.

The only pump I've ever used that was worth buying was the Edelbrock. I had one on my car for 15 years without any problem. When I swapped the motor last winter I sent it back to Edelbrock to have it rebuilt just because it was old. For $75 they rebuilt it and that included the return shipping. I've found most other aftermarket pumps to be pretty hit and miss.
