Very nice. Now I know why you see pointed out the dirt on my chassis pictures! LOL. Your engine is spotless. I’ve learned to live with the patina and cosmetic faults, so to speak, of unrestored cars. I’ve owned a ‘67 L68 conv since 1986 and it earned a 4 Star Bow tie Award in 2004. It was my third Corvette.
SO NICE... - -my grandparents used to live in Naples FL.
I am not going to make getting my car ready for the Raleigh NCRS meet - it looks like I am going to have to come down to Lakeland for the Regional at the end of Feb.
OR I have to go to CINCI for the regional prior to the National this summer where I want to go for a DUNTOV award with my 71 LT1... nearly everything in the car operates correctly including the correct fast idle and all the CEC controls - everything except the clock and key buzzer.
i’m thinking of 2020. I won’t be ready for the Lakeland event. With work and travel I don’t have the time to prepare the car AND enjoy the process.
Naples is nice.....but for a car enthusiast, it is not geared to classic Corvettes. The Club is more into cruising events in their late model cars. Of course, Naples is a haven for Ferrari, Masseratis, Lamborghinii, Porsche’s,,,,........

4 Star Bow tie - wow nice going.
Mine is a Top Flight but was judged in 2005 and until I bought it in 2015 it had only done less that 1k miles since the judging. It gave me something to do in the dark months but once the suns out I drive the wheels off it
Whoa, that’s beautiful! I’d be afraid to drive that for fear of getting it dirty!

A few CHRISTMAS DAY SHOTS of the BRANDSHATCH GREEN LT1.
I was in the Vette and had my Camera and lenses in the car... the sky was overcast and the light was nearly perfect for about 20 minutes prior to sunset - and this is only 1/4 mile from my house...

Beautiful car. Great one year color. Did a frame-off of ‘71 Brandshatch with Green interior LT-1 coupe many years ago. Car always attracted attention.
Hi,
It's beed a year I'm looking for a LT-1 at a decent price. Your thread is absolutely making me crazy about LT-1s.
I'm about to make an offer for a 1971 model Steel Cyties black trim.
The car has been NCRS top Flight judged in 2014. I the seller sent me a copy of the score and a copy of the NCRS certificate. Since 2014, the owner not as much delicate as you (as far as I can see the pictures of your beauties) has made some changings (radiator + Fan, added A.C....) but kept all original parts.
I've checked the VIN, engine # and all seems matching&correct. Though the VIN is mentionned nowhere on the web (C3 registry or any other forums)
I just have a couple of questions and as I can see it you guys are experts and if not better informed than I.
- Have I any way to know if this car really went throught NRCS and got the Top Flight Graal. I mean is there a NCRS registry that could corroborate it ?
- Assuming that the car is between "very good" and "excellent condition" what would be a price range of it ?
If you don't mind to help me and prevent me from missing something huge... I would really appreciate it. I can post some pictures if you ask me to.
Best regards.
Michael
Might check with Lenny. Toylman is his handle on this forum. He’s an encyclopedia on LT-1s.
Is this a coupe or roadster? Curious. I have been searching for a roadster for 9 months now. The only steel cities I know of is in Tennessee. Good looking car but rusted too much on the bottom for my interests. If they cleaned it up I would conisder buying that one. Would need to evaluate if the rust is all the way through or not. No idea on the birdcage though.
Micha, A suggestion, if you have not already done so, is to become a member of the NCRS and get the 5th edition judging guide for the 70-72. That manual will help you learn a lot. As far as verifying awards; they have a service, it is a bit costly, but may help your decision. Here is the description of what to expect.=leftCar Award Confirmation Service=justifyNCRS is pleased to include in the list of available services within the hobby the addition of an Award Confirmation Document. This document will provide a complete listing from our NCRS database of the available award statistics for a specific Corvette. NCRS records date back to the mid/late eighties in many cases. The Award Confirmation Document could provide an important link or be the missing piece to a vehicles history. This service includes a copy of the Shipping Data Report for your car if it is available for your model. The cost for this service will be $300 USD. Pay by Credit Card or PayPal. Please note: The Award Confirmation Document will provide any information that NCRS has on event judging awards. In the event that there is no event judging award information the charges are still valid.
Thank you for your comments and help. @bearcatfan9 : It's a T-top coupe It doesn't seems that much rusty if you look at the couple of pictures below. @toylman : Lenny, that's really a good idea, though a bit expensive, but I will consider it for sure. It could be useful not only for that car, but for some general information.
According to the below pics (and my previous description, any idea of what would be the price range ?
PS I will not be offensed if these picts are deleted when my study case is closed... It makes your great dedicated LT-1 Owner thread a bit greasy
Here are some pics:
Great thread! Obviously it's not original to the car, but my '69 has a home-built '70 LT-1 with all the correct components, even an original LT-1 4555 Holley.
@Dirty Dalton : Thank you for your picture. My past post was as a future LT-1 owner.... I was asking for help as I was about to makee an offer on the LT-1 you see on the pictures. Nevertheless you gave me the idea of checking in the specific rusted area.
Nice frame repair by the way...
I'm located in Paris, France. The car is in the US right now and I intend to import it,...soon hopefully.
The white LT-1 I posted above is the one I had for sale last summer. It was a '71 coupe and has since sold. I think I shared it with you but you were looking for a convertible. Still looking? LT-1 convertibles seem to be pretty hard to find. Good luck with your search!
