Default 71 seat question

hi everyone, sold my C4 and now looking to get back into a C3. its been about 5 years or so. anyway I have a question about seats.
I found a really nice 71 mostly original which is what I want but it has seats from a 2000 corvette.
where and how much can I get 2 seats from and what can I expect to pay?
I did a quick search and cant find any. any help would be appreciated, thanks Nutsy.
oh, there supposed to be black vinyl.

Source secondhand or wreckers, you may find some in reasonable condition if you need the covers Zip, Corvette Central can supply.

Corvette Central or corvette America l or another supplier do complete builds I think I saw somewhere in Vette magazine? They may even know where you could get some seats in good condition, get on the blower and have a chat with them they’re very helpful

I have the original seats in my 71 that I want to sell
But they are brown and need new foam
Plus I am a jillion miles away, so the shipping would be nasty
Too bad we are not in the same town
That said, you can probably find what you are looking for online
or post in the parts wanted here

most likely any 71 seats you find will need foam and covers and maybe more.i took my 71 seats up to corvette America and for $350 labor plus parts (foam and leather covers) they had my seats looking new again. less than 2 week turn around and free ship return to you. total cost was around $1200. keep in mind my seats were in nice condition except foam and covers and it will cost more if the seats you find need other parts like hinges ,seat backs, and track work.

If your car will be a 'driver', why not just keep the 2000 seats? They've got to be more comfortable than the 71's !! If they are the wrong color, that's easily changed. Worn? Rebuild them.

I took the heavy uncomfortable 72 seats out, and yes they were rebuilt with new covers and foam. The C5 seats are more comfy and provide better support and are way lighter. But if you want the originals there are some out there. I sold mine years ago.

thanks for all the helpful posts. I picked up the 71 today. the 2000 seats are great and the previouse owner paid 1200 dollars for them. were really comfortable but this 71 big block had a 52k dollar body off nut and bolt restoration and only thing that was replaced that was not to factory specs was
rear leaf spring, he put a fiberglass one
correct looking but smaller steering wheel, I think because there is no Tand T
seats
radiator
and he put a 5 speed tremac trans in it, I have original trans.
car is much nicer than it was when new. previous owner was very wealthy and spared no expenses.
car was not cheap but is what I wanted, will post some pics soon, thanks again for all the tips on seats, I will try to hunt them down.

Smaller steering wheel because the later seats sit a bit higher.

Smaller steering wheel because the stock one is too large! Later C3's went to a better steering wheel design.

I have a set of seat frames that are from my 1971 ‘vette I’ll sell for $50. All you need is the seat foam and covers. For $20 I’ll throw in a set of seat backs.
I’m in PA, where are you in PA?
