Does this look like a Corvette air cleaner lid? I was given it today and am trying to figure out what it goes to. It supposedly came from a home that had a mid 70's Corvette.
Pics of the underside would be helpful. One of the silk screened instructions if there is one, and one of the center hole area. Those would help define—from what we see in the photo you have, it could be.
No mid 70's (73-80) had a chrome air cleaner lid. They were all gloss black. But in 1981 the lids were chrome plated. It appears that yours has some height to it. So I'm guessing an 81. If it is for a Vette. A side view photo would help to determine for sure. It doesn't look like an earlier 68-72 lid to me. Keep in mind that there are plenty of aftermarket chrome lids for the 73-80 cars too! Here's a couple 81 engine shots with the chrome lid.

Yep, it looks like an 81 lid to me. There are chrome aftermarket lids for 76-81 that look similar, but they don't have the raised rib that's at about the 13" mark on your tape measure.
