I want to order two floor mats for my 77. Zip Corvette offers a 'cut pile' and a 'loop design'...
Do you guys know what's the difference between the cut pile and loop design mats? Pros and cons?
Just search "cut pile vs. loop design" auto carpet.
As for pros and cons, all I can suggest is to avoid the cut pile mats from Al Knoch. Mine black mats constantly shred and shed underfoot and the floor is always full of black carpet fiber fur *****.
In essence, cut-pile carpet is loop-pile carpet with the top of the loops cut off. Loop pile is stronger and more durable; cut pile is more "pleasing to the eye". When C3's became "luxury sports vehicles", they got cut-pile carpets.
