If cage and frame are ok, 1500 tops. Check date codes on tires. Could be 2 yrs old and good. Could be 10 to 20 years old and dangerous but look new. And resign yourself to Maaco paint or backyard job. Car will never be worth proper paint.

If you are looking for a nice driver and want a Corvette, start off looking at 74-82 year models.
They are listed all the time on the forum and craigslist etc.
The prices range from $7,500.00 for a really nice driver and go up from there depending on what has been done and what the owner feels it is worth.
$7,500.00 would get you into something very nice that you can work on and upgrade if you want.
It doesn't hurt to do as you just did and post a couple of pictures and ask questions here on the forum.
Do a lot of research before you look and before you buy.
Get to know what the birdcage is and the areas to access it for inspection, same with problem areas on the frame regarding rust and how to look for collision repairs etc.
Good luck.

Old Car Bum and VetteBuyer have nailed it.... The other posts offer very solid advice as well. I've seen articles suggesting the 75 is the worst vette of all time... I disagree. It does lack real big horsepower, but you can change that. The style is still there.

The posts mentioning the costs of the repairs / improvements are also spot on. That 75 will never be worth more than you have to put into it to make it really nice, and it's nearly always cheaper to buy a car that's close to right and finish it off than to buy a basketcase and repair / improve everything.

Looking at the car's pictures and what needs to be done, and ASSUMING there is no frame or birdcage damage/rust, I wouldn't spend even the $2500. There are other 74-78's that are out there for $4-5K that are far closer to being right. Paint on that car alone (even without the body work) will have you upside down. That's my 2 cents anyway.

everyone keeps saying birdcage, I don’t really know what that means. Also thank you everyone who has replied.

Birdcage is the frame around the windshield -- a pilars/crossbar that the t-top comes to meet. It is a regular rust trouble spot. I'm replacing the corners and top crossmember on my 70 right now.
