Five years later, the fans are still solidly running. They spun easy when I took them off the car and then ohm'd them out, to make sure the windings weren't open. $40 on a half off day and my '74 with a built 383, never goes above 200 degrees. I cleaned them up and it sure felt good on the wallet!
When I did my serp change out, I got a C4 drive setup, changed to C4 a/c comp and got an idler to replace the air pump......this all maybe 25 years ago......
I put that on my '71. I haven't run it yet, but if you read the article, it covers all the issues that you need to adjust for. Because you have to clock the alternator, you cant install the brace that comes with the kit. I don't think its a big deal, just something you should know. Also, I'm running electric fans so I cant comment on how it clears with a regular fan. I like the look of it. It installed fairly easily.
Did you get it fired up yet...Just did this to mine noticed you had to turn the idler pulley for clearance....did you have to change the belt size as well?
I went with Eddie’s as I needed the water pump, PS pump, alternator, Sanden AC compressor and all the brackets and pulleys. They even provided the correct PS pump for my Borgeson steering box and I opted for a remote reservoir. I chose to stick with V-belts, but they make serpentine kits also. I like that they sit in front of the engine giving you a more tidy install. This one went in. My C2, but same concept.

Hello,
no, unfortunately I haven't fired it up yet. I have like what seems an insurmountable amount of things to do on this car and a very limited amount of time. (Like most people)
I did have to flip the idler and grind some aluminum off the bracket to make it fit. If you try to install it the "right" way, it hits the control arm.
It lengthened the belt size, so I needed to purchase a longer belt. I have the belt number at home if you need it. Let me know and Ill tell you which one I got.

THANKS That would be great ...I will have my parts guy order in the correct bely and return the other one.
Radman2112 good afternoon...sorry, need to pick your brain again..
I finished up the install of the serpentine system (again thanks for the belt recommendation) I put the radiator back in and the top hose is a bt of an issue. What hose did you end up with..

again thanks for your time.
no problem. Let me look it up and I’ll get back to you.
I ordered the AC Delco upper hose #24044L. I have put it on and it does fit. It looks to me like it might get squished between the hood and the radiator. Not sure yet as my hood is off. It was only $18, so it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t work. I was thinking of looking into a way to route out some other way but i have to get my CAI squared away first. Hope that helps.
