I've got a backup camera in my C5. It displays on the Double Din radio and the camera is mounted just above the license plate. It is quite helpful when backing into parking spots to see how far off the curb I am (so I don't smack the exhaust tips), but for day-to-day backing up, I never use it as the mirrors gives a betters field of vision.
I actually drove a new GMC Sierra with the rear view camera. The field of view is not the same as the mirror and I actually found it distracting. Mirror all day for me.
there's settings to zoom/unzoom the view as well as pan it up/down, might look into that
I think it depends on the mirror used. Mine was only about 1/4" larger on each side than the stock one on my 72
One thing about it, at night it works fine and if the tops are on (pretty rare thing) it works ok during the day, if the tops are off during the day.... not so much

whats the part number on yours......I used a strap over the top model that was way too big and almost caused and accident...the size was the only issue
Thanks for the comparison shot, Mooser. I keep waiting for a product to come out that's the size pictured above, but functions like this one.
AUTO-VOX V5PRO OEM Look Rear View Mirror Camera with Neat Wiring, No Glare Mirror Dash Cam Font and Rear, 9.35'' Full Laminated Ultrathin Touch Screen, Dual 1080P Super Night Vision Car Backup Camera
This one is nearly 12 inches long at the bottom, and that definitely won't work.
I'm still saying I did it because I could rather than because it's needed. I still have a front spoiler hanging on the wall that I plan to install someday and don't want to use it as a curb feeler lol

Exactly. That long nose with zero ground view is something that can lead to bumps. I'm not thinking the dash cam will help me with that, but while the whole interior is out I might as well.
I love back up cameras, for hooking up trailers.. About the only upgrade I would like in my C3 is a passenger side mirror, preferably one that doesnt say "Objects in this mirror may be closer... " which does away with the purpose of the mirror.
I grafted in the Rear View Camera Mount from a C8 Corvette Convertible. It wasn’t easy and hacked up the halo under the cover pretty good. I have the BrandMotion Rear view Camera.
