Found this broken spring under the front of my '72. Determined it came from a headlamp. Easy replacement or major job?
Update...Looked from under car and can see the location where the spring goes. Looks like just a new spring (replace both) and some tool to stretch/attach to the housing. Any comments/advice appreciated!

Reason: Update
It is a relatively strong spring which requires some 'manipulation' and 'encouragement' to get it assembled. If I recall correctly, I used an ice-pick or medium sized Phillips screwdriver to help engage the end of the spring with its new 'home'....much like installing springs on brake shoes.
Broken spring. Who knows when another will break. I would be inclined to replace all the headlight springs. You can buy a kit with all 4 springs per headlight. You want the correct tension.
I just rebuilt my headlight assemblies. Springs are fairly stiff. With some muscle you can definitely do it by hand if you don’t have a spring tool.
Note. Red and yellow colored springs are not factory. After cleaning mine up, they didn’t look fresh enough. One had some red overspray from a previous car repaint. So I just did a light dust to freshen their look up.
Say, what is the function of the two springs mounted between the larger ones? I believe the large springs I replaced cause the headlamp to retract. Correct?
