Default Motion Performance products inquiry

I was at a speed shop car show and a Guy pointed out my Motion Performance sticker on my windshield
He said my 1982 crossfire may have the baldwin performannce package ?
He pointed out that the whitestripe and front bumper may be unique
he said to do some research and I found out it was an outfit in New York that upgraded corvettes and was sent a cease and desit warning from the EPA which would fine them $10 k per car if they continued
however this was in the 70s and my car is an 82
Does anyone have any knowledge of this
I dont see any motor or equipment that looks upgraded
perhaps a clone or someone just put the sticker on ?

I would say NO its just a sticker and the guy is playing tricks on you ,,,, unless you have a 427 motor and a Hon-o-Drive sitting in your car

A little hard to tell from the pic angle, but that looks like the stock front bumper to me.

Motion Performance worked with Baldwin Chevrolet to make Baldwin-Motion cars. That partnership stopped sometime around 1974/75 due to EPA problems. Motion still did conversions and upgrades on cars well into the mid 80’s without Baldwin Chrevrolet. Motion and Baldwin-Motion are two very different things. Motion cars invoiced through Baldwin Chevrolet hold a premium price and have the most desirability. Motion modified cars, while still interesting to some, are not as sought after.

Your car may have been worked on by Motion Performance or someone could have just put a sticker on it. Either way, without any kind of documentation it pretty much means nothing. If you really want to know try to track down previous owners and see if any have a work order from Motion.

Thanks Ed I appreciate the insight
I didn’t think it meant anything
the guy saying the front bumper isn’t stock and the white stripe was unique to motion peeked my interest

That's right. Either the original owner or Joel Rosen himself will be able to tell you. It willl cost you though as he doesn't do it for free.
