Got around to making the adapter brackets to fit the ‘76 rear bumper support to the ‘73 chassis. I think they turned out pretty good. That rear bumper support is heavy! Definitely something to replace with lighter parts in the future.

Thanks! This is my first build so let’s see how it turns out functionally in the end haha.

For now I’m going to stick with the current paint. It’s not in good shape but could be much worse. In the future I’d like to see something like the cyber gray.

Fixing the headlight assembly brackets. First time welding aluminum. Had already fixed the one on the right. It was worse than the one on the left. Cut new pieces of aluminum and welded them in. Pretty happy with the welds and the finished repair.

Been pretty busy and getting some things done. Bought outdoor carpet from Menards, cut/fit it to the floor pans, and glued it in place. Started getting the harnesses installed. Also fabricated and installed the harness bar.

I then started trying to verify driveline angles and couldn't the numbers to work out. The flange on the trans is down about 5 degrees. A couple degrees too much. I started measuring around and it appears the front of the frame is too high by about an inch and a half. I asked the body shop to measure all parts of the frame but obviously they didn't. So frustrating! Also, the differential pinion is around 0 degrees or a little nose down. That doesn't make sense. I would expect it to be nose up by about three degrees. I looked at the stock chassis from the 76 and its also about 0 degrees or a little nose down. Does that make sense to anyone? It is possible I just don't know what I'm doing. A little help would be appreciated.

Awesome video and as always beautiful work.
I wish I had your shop and tools.
One thing to think about, is you may want to add a spring into the lower radiator hose.
There have been numerous threads regarding the lower radiator hoses collapsing under pressure and causing overheating issues in our C3’s.
The springs were factory installed and are necessary.
Keep the videos coming and I love the wheels!

Thank you! The spring in the lower hose is a great recommendation. Especially since I plan to track this car and keep the RPMs high. Unfortunately, the original lower hose didn't have a spring. I'll have to order one. This is the largest one summit sells

Earl's Performance 773420ERL - Earl's Performance Hose Inner Support Springs

Its a 20AN (1.25"). The lower hose is 1.5" but reviews say it can be uncoiled to meet the 1.5" diameter. Looks like I'll get it on order before I fill the cooling system.

You could also try ordering an oem style hose from a good parts store like Napa Auto Parts and ask if the hose includes the required 1.5” spring.

I don’t think an OEM hose would fit the LS swap.

Thanks for posting the update video!
I just tried to rate your thread with a Five star rating, but when I hit the first star it only rated it as a one star rating.
I was thinking I needed to hit all five stars, one at a time, but no.
Touch the first star and you’re stuck and it wouldn’t let me change it to Five stars.
I am sorry because your thread is a five star thread.
