First timer here, I'm looking at a 427/390 roadster red/red white convertible top with hardtop. 4 spd m21, ps,tinted glass, push button am/fm radio. Am told motor/ tranny original to car with motor rebuilt. Frame very nice with suspension components replaced or rebuilt as needed. Body never off the car and an older repaint which is excellent. 3rd owner now has car that shows 85k miles. Has original tank sticker. Thoughts on value ?. Thanks.

Depending on condition and with those colors and options, it could be worth anywhere from $18-$75k. However, a very clean, very nice driver is easily worth in the mid $30k range. I have owned a LeMans Blue '69 L36 convertible for 32 years- obviously it is one of my favorites.
I sold my 69' 427/400 4 speed Vert with A/C in 2014 for 40k......older 90's paint job, nice driver....numbers match....clean overall with 76,000 original on it. Still had the original plug wires......Tri-Power and A/C kick it up a notch, but you get the idea......
windshield frame, firewall body mount rust. guy today was looking at this car. pics of windshield frame that is not very good. ideas where to look. and matching number engine? verify it. read the pad in front of the right head. take a pic and post it here. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html

Thanks for the replies! Will post pics when I can and asking price is $55k.On the fence about selling my 08 coupe for the 69 but you're input and guidance is certainly appreciated.
If it’s a clean car, if the tank sticker is legit and not a repro, if it has only minor frame/birdcage rust, has a real trim tag that’s red on red, if it has the original born with 427/390 drivetrain that’s not restamped, if it has all these qualities and looks good too, then the asking price is not out of line. Red on red 69 427 4sp roadster is pretty desirable.

My 327 convertible is valued buy the insurance company for a bout $30k now....so if its in good shape atleast $35k , $55k isnt out of the question. Big blocks always listed a good $10K above the small block cars. Call your loan officer or insurance company and ask them for a reputable appraiser for classic cars. then just take that person some pics of the sides, fronts and corners with all the options and proof of original motor

I did check with Hagerty and they were around $50k for excellent condition but i need to verify as best I can with date codes stampings etc as to what this car should or does have in it so as to narrow the scope of the cars value. Thanks for the suggestion.
I don't think that's out of line. I'm preparing my '70 LS5 M21 convertible for sale now, which seems pretty similar to your car. Just painted in the original color, 55k documented miles, tank sticker, original drivetrain, etc. I've talked to a number of people in the business that have seen the car and they all say its worth $50k to $60k.
Looks to be a nice car....did not know it was unfinished. But everything looks correct from the engine photo....although here is still a ton of work to do there.......
If I were looking at this to purchase.......low to mid 30's is the number to me......no A/C or any options plus there is still a lot to do.
Mid to high 40's is where I see it completed.......
I am sure others will chime in......
For the car to be a $55k 390hp car it needs to be pretty close to perfect. This one isn’t. At least not yet. Is the seller finishing the car for whoever buys it?
Those pics only tell part of the story. The exhaust manifolds are not original as they do not have the smog holes and you will not be able to install a smog system if you wanted to. A bit of a pain to change out but not a deal breaker. The tank sticker looks original. If the seller finishes the car and everything looks nice and new he will probably get near his asking price, but not as it is in the pics. And that’s as long as everything else I mentioned in my other post checks out. Good luck and I hope it works out. Could be a nice car.
