79 Distributor cover

79 Distributor cover

My distributor cover is sort of laying in there, I can see a wing nut on the right side so I'm assuming there should be some kind of bracket that it mounts to? Is that correct?

That wing nut is for a woven copper ground strap.

My cover is a plastic cover, does it mount to anything? Mine seems to be sort of laying there.

It should be installed like this. There are no fasteners. It just shoves in there.

Got it, thanks. I need to get a strap like that. That's a good looking, all original engine bay! Still got the Qjet in there? I finally found a 17059211 that I have coming.

Not my engine bay. I have an '80 and it looks very simmilar.

Funny you ask about the carb. I just sent a '79 L-82 carb to Lars for a rebuild/calibration.

There is a lip that catches on cap..other than that as above…
