Bleeding breaks
When I go to crack my bleed screw open to bleed the brakes and when I’m pushing the pedal fluid is leaking a decent amount around the threads of the bleed screw and dripping onto the floor?

That can happen. It does not cause any problem with the brake bleeding process; it just makes more mess. To minimize that leakage, don't open the bleeder so far (1/4 to 1/2 turn is all you need) and press down on the pedal easier and slower. Taking it a little easier going up and down with the pedal aids in the process. It's best to be lightly pressing the pedal BEFORE opening the bleeder; pushing the pedal down evenly and slower (2-3 seconds to apply; and holding the pedal at the bottom and tightening the bleeder BEFORE bringing the pedal back up at the same rate.
