Re-installing dash..
So the dash is re dyed, wiring is un bubbafied, heater core and hoses replaced so I'm about to go down to the garage to put the carb back and I figure since there's nothing left to do under the dash I may as well put that back on today as well. My only question is do I put the dash in first or the other stuff and then put the dash in? since I pulled the speedo, tach, and center gauges to replace circuits and re-chrome the trim not sure whether I'm supposed to put the dash before or after hooking up all the stuff.... I know the plastic is 40+ years old so don't want to force or wreck anything putting it back on. the mini "resto" been taking a while but man everything is finally coming together and hopefully i'll done by the end of spring break

I put everthing back in then install the dash. Drivers side is first and can be tightened. I place the center gauge console in an th drivers side screws loosely, passenger side last. Instal and screw in the pad then go back and align the center bezel

I am referring to the top dash in the above comment, not the driver side gauge dash or the right side . These along with the center cluster are installed after the top dash.

I put the upper / top dash pad in first, with the defroster duct. Just be sure it is warm, I did it during the summer and put it in the sun for an hour.
Some people recommend heating / warming it with a hair dryer to make it a little more flexible.
Be sure the A piler covers are off to make installation easier.
Just my way of doing it.
