The pictures of the OP’s car don’t do it justice. Looks way better in person. I saw this car and the paint came out real nice. It’s a nice metallic original silver. Beautiful original car.
You spent $800 including the base/clear?
If you were to guesstimate, how many hours into it?
Yes and that included the epoxy, high build polyester and urethane primer as well. (6 years ago)... I honestly dont have a good idea of hours.... at least 80 stripping the car and likely another 80 prepping for paint.. the painting didnt take long at all and was stressful but fairly easy. then there was likely 3-5 hours of wet sanding and polishing afterwards. It was enough work that I although Ive been asked to paint 3 other corvettes including a 63, I turned down the offers. I made some mistakes and someday ill be respraying mine to correct them but it turned out better than I originally thought I could do.
Sorry I didnt comment to go off topic and highjack, just to support the fact that a good paint job doesnt have to cost a small fortune and although I dont really know what the OP's paint cost him, It turned out great from what I can see.
